In the Northern Hemisphere He's Watching's oldest progeny are two year olds in 2019.
He’s Watching not only brings blistering speed and sensational gait to the equation, but also an incredible pedigree.
His sire American Ideal is by a son of the champion mare Leah Almahurst and is out of a daughter another champion mare in Three Diamonds. These two outstanding mares are closely related having their third and second dam respectively as the great K Nora.
Remarkably, the dam of He’s Watching carries the same cross. His own fourth dam is Leah Almahurst and the dam of his maternal grandsire is Three Diamonds.
So four strains of a dominant mare in K Nora via sex-balanced duplications of two champion mares – a pedigree enthusiasts paradise.
To round off a great pedigree he also has eight daughters of Tar Heel (six of them unique) in his sixth generation.
He’s Watching’s sire American Ideal is well proven and has shown to cross with mares by a variety of sirelines.
Perhaps the two most prevalent sirelines he has crossed with to date have been Cam Fella and Abercrombie.
Three of American Ideal’s top ten earners, including the top one, are out of Cam Fella line mares.
So we believe He’s Watching will cross well with mares by stallions such as Bettors Delight, Fake Left, Armbro Operative, Presidential Ball, Washington VC, Precious Bunny, Four Starzzz Shark, Blissfull Hall, Pacific Fella, Camtastic, Cameleon, Brioso Hanover, Exotic Earl, etc.
Abercrombie line mares have also produced three of American Ideal’s top ten earners, so look for He’s Watching to cross well with mares by such stallions as Art Major, Artsplace, Grinfromeartoear, Artiscape, Astreos, Modern Art, Albert Albert, Life Sign, Dream Away, Pacific Rocket, Fully Loaded, Peace Of Art, Panorama, etc.
With He’s Watching being out of a Real Desire mare, matching up an Abercrombie line mare with him duplicates this tremendous sireline. The duplication of Abercrombie does appear in the pedigree of a lot of top horses.
Direct Scooter line mares have worked well with a variety of Western Hanover line stallions and this is certainly the case with Western Ideal and his sons Rocknroll Hanover and American Ideal.
Of particular note, both Rocknroll Hanover and American Ideal themselves are a product of the Western Ideal / Direct Scooter mare cross. Reinforcing this excellent cross by breeding them back to Direct Scooter line mares has proven to be highly successful - with Rocknroll Hanover siring the likes of Tatijana Bromac ($215,000) and Rocknroll Arden ($161,095) and American Ideal siring the likes of the Gr.1 winner Besotted.
We believe He’s Watching, as a son of American Ideal and a grandson of Western Ideal, presents a very attractive option for Direct Scooter line mares.
Downunder Direct Scooter line stallions include In The Pocket, Christian Cullen, Mach Three, Courage Under Fire, Stoneridge Scooter, Ok Bye, Deal Direct, Direct Flight, etc.
The cross with Mach Three mares will present a 4x3 sex-balanced duplication of Matt’s Scooter.
In recent times the doubling up of No Nukes has become more prevalent and produced some very good horses. Western Ideal and American Ideal have both left very good horses out of No Nukes line mares.
The three-time NZ Cup winner Terror To Love, the Miracle Mile winner Baby Bling and the brilliant Bling It On are examples of top racehorses bred on the cross of a No Nukes line stallion over a No Nukes line mare. Bling It On is especially relevant as he is by American Ideal.
No Nukes line stallions include Live Or Die, Badlands Hanover, Safely Kept, Village Jasper, Jereme's Jet, Caprock, Ticket To Heaven, etc.
It is also worth noting that He’s Watching’s third dam is by No Nukes so most No Nukes line mares will also introduce an attractive sex-balance to the pedigree of the resulting foal.
Falcon Seelster mares are terrific broodmares and cross with a variety of different sirelines including the Western Ideal line.
Look for He’s Watching to also sire some very good horses out of mares by Falcon Seelster and his sons Elsu, McArdle and Million To One.
Of note, He’s Watching has only one strain of Albatross in his first four generations so he should also be a sound option for a lot of mares, especially those in New Zealand, that carry a strong Albatross presence.
