Titan Banner continues to impress

Titan Banner continues to impress following victory in the Winter Cup at Addington on Saturday.

Beginning well from the stand, Titan Bromac quickly moved up to take the lead. However Cullect A Guinness applied pressure and soon pressed on to the front.

Mark Purdon, who was aboard Titan Banner, decided though to retake the lead. So after some chopping and changing, Purdon had the son of Art Major on the front.

The moves would keep coming though and with a lap to travel Mighty Flying Mac moved up swiftly and took the lead from Titan Banner.

Christen Me was then off from the back of the field and reached the lead at the 800 metre mark.

Shortly after Titan Banner, who was now three back on the pegs, was off and moving again. Reaching Christen Me with 600 metres to go, these two would eventually clear out from the rest of the field.

It was a stirring battle up the long Addington straight, with Titan Banner getting slightly the better of Christen Me to win by a neck.

This was just Titan Banner's second start, and first win, for Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.

A veteran of 26 starts, he has now won 10 times for earnings of $84,383.
