Taking full advantage of her good draw, Tenniele Erin (Sportswriter) was able to hold the front and keep her main rival Lady De La Renta on her outside for the majority of the race.
Running through the first half in 59.4, she then covered the third quarter in 28.4
Lady De La Renta kept coming, but Tenniele Erin would not be denied and paced strongly to the line to win by half a length.
For Tenniele Erin it was her second win from five starts and takes her earnings to just shy of $70,000.
Bred by Elevenelevens Super Fund Syndicate (Nathan Varcoe), Tenniele Erin was purchased as a foal on Lilianna Beauty by Kevin Charles in Western Australia.
She was offered for sale at the 2016 Perth Yearling but failed to meet her reserve of $12,000. That price now looks a bargain!
