Southern Cross Semi Finals Success

The Semi Finals for the South Australian Southern Cross Series were held at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night and they were a success for Alabar sired horses.

In fact five of the seven Semi Finals were sired by Alabar stallions.

Our Celebrity (Mach Three) kicked it off with a comfortable all the way win in her Semi Final for two year old fillies. (Watch Replay)

Sprinting home in 57.8, Our Celebrity won by 7.5 metres. It was her fifth win in nine starts.

Futurist (Armbro Operative) has been in great form this season and it continued with him taking out the first Semi Final for three year old colts and geldings. (Watch Replay)

After facing the breeze for the trip, Futurist dug deep in the home straight to just hold off Official Art and win by a neck.

It was his eleventh win from nineteen starts this season.

Rap Artist (Art Major) continued on his winning ways with a narrow win in the second Semi Final for three year old colts and geldings. (Watch Replay)

After finding the front in the early stages, Rap Artist controlled the race and was able to find the finish line first, just over Jumping Jolt who came off his back.

Rap Artist has been nothing short of a winning machine since he started his career 13 months ago. In 20 starts he has now won 16 times!

Rocknroll Magic (Rock N Roll Heaven) scored the easiest of wins in her Semi Final for three year old fillies. (Watch Replay)

Leading all of the way, she sprinted home in 57 flat to win untouched by over three lengths.

This was her 10th win this season and 18th overall.

Lily Thesinger (Courage Under Fire) made it two wins on end when scoring in the second semi final for three year old fillies. (Watch Replay)

After coming from behind at her previous start, Lily Thesinger was able to lead this time and while she copped a lot of pressure during the run, she was simply too good for her rivals.

Sprinting home in 57.3, she won by 1.7 metres. This was the fourth win of her career.
