Son of A Rocknroll Dance the fastest 2yo!

Bar Room Banta, a son of A Rocknroll Dance, became the fastest ever 2yo in the Southern Hemisphere when he won his NSW Breeders Challenge Semi Final in 1:50.3.

After being crossed early, Luke McCarthy immediately had Bar Room Banta on the move for the retake.

Pacing strongly through the line, he held off a stout challenge from Tasty Delight to win in record time.

Bar Room Banta has only tasted defeat once in five starts and his four wins have been in 1:53.8, 1:51.8, 1:52.9 and 1:50.3. He has rare speed.

Bred by Ray Cahill, Bar Room Banta is out of the Christian Cullen mare Jerada Ace. He was picked out by Michael Stanley from the Success Stud draft at the APG Sydney Sale and purchased for $26,000 by the BFJ Bloodstock Trust.

Bar Room Banta will become A Rocknroll Dance's second Group One winning 2yo this season should he be able to take out the NSW Breeders Challenge Final on Saturday the 24th of October.

Note: Other NSW Breeders Challenge Semi Final winners were Watts Up Sunshine (Sunshine Beach) and Soho Almasi (Mach Three).
