Roll With Me scored a tough win on debut at Penrith last night.
The two year old son of Roll With Joe and Miss Hazel began from the back line but his trainer/driver Blake Fitzpatrick had him on the move mid race and he sat in the breeze for the final lap.
A length of the leader Decapria at the top of the home straight, Roll With Me showed real grit and determination to get the win by 1.1 metres in 2:00.
Bred by Sloys Company Ltd, Roll With Me was born and raised at Pepper Tree Farm and Belinda Richardson remembers him fondly, "From the moment he was born, we all knew he was special & were pleased with what Roll With Joe was producing.
"Roll With Me was a strong, confident & alert colt that once we took into yearling prep showed that he had all the right attributes to make it as a racehorse. He was good gaited, fantastic attitude & the more he worked the more he thrived."
Purchased for $50,000 by clients of Blake Fitzpatrick, Roll With Me has a pedigree littered with stars.
His dam, Miss Hazel, was a Group One winner and earned $310,063. She is by Presidential Ball and a daughter of the broodmare gem My Ami Lee - dam of Louvre $402,665, Renaissance Man $297,904 and My General Lee $152,867.
