My Field Marshal rewrites the record books

My Field Marshal made history when winning the Group 1 Miracle Mile.

The son of Art Major became the first ever pacer to break the 1:47 barrier when he stopped the clock at 1:46.9!

Given a tremendous drive by Anthony Butt, My Field Marshal produced a withering sprint to finish all over the top of his rivals and win by a head over Jilliby Kung Fu with Soho Tribeca another head away back in third.

My Field Marshal's time sliced 0.6 of a second off the previous Australasian record, but perhaps more impressive was that is was the seventh fastest race mile ever and the second fastest ever on a track smaller than a mile.

My Field Marshal has been trained to perfection by Tim Butt throughout his career but this this win must be extra special.

With the win My Field Marshal became the latest millionaire for Art Major joining For A Reason and Sushi Sushi.

Bred and raced by Syd and Shona Brown, My Field Marshal is out of their former outstanding mare Foreal $623,872.
