Maudie Mombassa wins Red Ochre Classic

Maudie Mombassa took out the Group Three Red Ochre Classic at Dubbo last Friday night and in doing so became the latest stakes winner for Art Major.

After working forward to the front in the early stages of the race, Maudie Mombassa was never headed and ran out a half length winner in 2:00.8.

For Maudie Mombassa this was her ninth win and she now joins her mother, Maudie, as a stakeswinner.

Bred, owned and trained by Ray Cahill, Maudie Mombassa is just the first foal of Maudie 1:54.6 - $105,108.

Maudie, a daughter of Armbro Oliver, was a very good racemare winning the Pink Bonnet Stakes as a two year old and the Ranji Bill Stakes as an older mare.
