It was certainly not his conduct from the standing start that was outstanding though as he galloped away and lost a significant amount of ground.
However once the son of Rock N Roll Heaven settled into a pace, he was phenomenal.
His driver Natalie Rasmussen let him slide forward and he quickly was up and taking the lead after they had traveled just 700 metres.
Once in front he settled well and was always in control.
That last half of 54.1 was breathtaking as Heaven Rocks recorded it at the end of two miles and under very little urging at all. In fact it looked like he plenty left in the tank.
That speed and the ability to carry it for such a long way is what makes Heaven Rocks such an exceptional horse.
Bred by Benstud Standardbreds in Victoria, Heaven Rocks is out of the Pacific Fella mare Mendelico who was a very good racemare herself winning 17 races and $188,243.
Heaven Rocks will now head towards the Harness Jewels where he is favourite to defend his crown.
