First heat of Young Guns Series falls to son of Mach Three

Alta Intrigue (Mach Three) took out the first heat of the Young Guns Series last Friday night at Alexandra Park.

After showing good gate speed to lead, Alta Intrigue elected to take a sit on Vasari (Art Major) with a lap to travel.

Exploding along the sprint lane, Alta Intrigue hit the front and then was just able to hold off the fast finishing More The Better to win. Vasari finished third.

It was his second win from three starts for Alta Intrigue and this smart 2yo looks to have many more wins in store.

Alta Intrigue was bred by Alta Breeding and was an $85,000 purchase by Lincoln Farm at the 2015 Australasian Classic yearling sale.

He is the second foal out of the imported Real Artist mare Samantha Q. She is a daughter of the Breeders Crown winning mare Paige Nicole Q 1:52 - $712,801.
