Field Marshal wins Messenger

Field Marshal continues to do his parents proud with yet another win at the highest level, this time in the Messenger Stakes.

Given a perfect drive by Dexter Dunn, the son of Art Major sat close to the front in the one wide line.

When Dunn hooked him out three wide for 400 metres to travel, Field Marshal did the rest and won comfortably by one and a quarter lengths in near race record time.

This made it back to back Group One wins after he last week captured the Taylor Mile.

Bred and owned by Syd and Shone Brown, Field Marshal is the second foal out of their star mare Foreal 1:55.8 - $664,800.

Foreal has an Art Major colt foal and is back in foal to Art Major.

Field Marshal is trained by Tim Butt, and he will now be aimed towards the Harness Jewels in May.
