EXPENSIVE EGO - COULD HE BE THE BEST?

EXPENSIVE EGO - COULD HE BE THE BEST?

Although he only commenced racing about 6 weeks ago, many good judges would now be suggesting the two year old colt by Rock N Roll Heaven with the flash name of Expensive Ego might just be Australia’s best.

He hasn’t and won’t compete against the likes of Jilliby Nitro and Be Happy Mach this season but he now boasts a resume of five starts for five wins including two Group One victories.

His victory in the $100,000 Albion Park Gold Final on Saturday night was both arrogant and exhilarating. The winning margin of almost 30 metres must be one of the easiest victories in a Group One race for the entire season.

Expensive Ego is the fifth foal of the Perfect Art mare Art Start and now her third $100,000 winner from the mare (Arts Treasure and Bodhi Tree are the other two).

His breeding further reinforces the success of Rock N Roll Heaven over mares by sons of Artsplace, remembering that Rock N Roll Heaven himself is out of an Artsplace mare. These successes include:

  • Heavens Trend 1.52.1 - $385,683
  • Anything For Love 1.48.7 - $270,903
  • Eye See Diamonds 1.51.6 - $258,475
  • Zaras Delight 1.53.8 - $162,806
  • Rock Of America 1.51.4 - $161,790
  • Shesa Killer Queen 1.52.1 - $155,629
  • Rock With Sam 1.54 - $154,879.

Rock N Roll Heaven is currently in fifth position on both the Australian Sires List and Two Year Old Sires List, with only two living stallions ahead of him.
