From barrier one, Daryl Boko (Majestic Son) was able to kick through and settle in behind the leader Djokovic.
After enjoying a great trip, he sprinted powerfully along the passing lane and quickly shot clear to win untouched by three lengths.
His overall time of 2:03.4 was sensational and only just outside the New Zealand record for 1700 metres.
Purchased out of Sweden by a syndicate organised by Tim Butt, Daryl Boko had gone winless in nineteen Southern Hemisphere starts, however his form this season had been good and this win could definitely be the catalyst for something bigger.
