APG Sweep at Melton for Sportswriter and Rock N Roll Heaven

The progeny of Sportswriter and Rock N Roll Heaven sired all three APG heat winners at Melton last night.

Lumineer kicked it off with a tremendously impressive win over the well regarded Higherthananeagle (Mach Three).

The son of Sportswriter had to do all the work in the run before ducking in behind Higherthananeagle and then sprinting past him in the home straight.

It was the third win from as many starts for Lumineer.

Stefsbest scored an all the way win in the second heat.

The son of Sportswriter and Smyrna Duruisseau was making just his second start and he won like a horse with a bright future.

Sprinting home in 29.2 and 27.9, Stefsbest won by almost two lengths over a fast finishine Jimmy Locke (Rock N Roll Heaven).

In the last heat Yankee Roller (Rock N Roll Heaven) won to remain undefeated in two starts.

After sitting in behind the leader, Yankee Roller sprinted strongly to just get home over Jilliby Lorenzo (Roll With Joe) by half head.

Note: The Alabar sired Be Major Threat (Art Major) and Colt Thirty One (Mach Three) also won their respective APG heats at Menangle and Albion Park.

Bred by Gary Hawthorn and Jenny Gallagher, Be Major Threat is the first foal of the McArdle mare Shes Got It All who comes from the famed Black Watch family.

While Colt Thirty One was bred by Kevin and Kay Seymour and is out of the Perfect Art mare Charm Personified.
