Another Group One winning 2yo for Shadow Play

Play The Boys became Shadow Play's second Group One winning two-year-old this season after winning the $100,000 WA Sales Classic last night at Gloucester Park. (Watch Replay)

Coming off a 1:56.2 heat win, Play The Boys went out as favourite.

Facing many challenges for the lead in the early stages, he was able to hold the front and proceeded to run the field through some even fractions.

After running through the third quarter in 29.3, Play The Boys sprinted clear at the top of the home straight.

Rock Me Over (Rock N Roll Heaven) however loomed large and was coming home strongly.

Play The Boys just held on though to defeat Rock Me Over by a half head to give Alabar stallions with the quinella.

This was Play The Boys' second win from as many starts and takes his earnings to $64,550.

He was bred by Debra Lewis and is the seventh live foal of the Crouch mare Hello Boys.

Shadow Play is having a banner year with his two year olds with Play The Boys joining Castalong Shadow as Group One winners.
