1:53.6 - $840,163. Bay Horse, Foaled 2006, 15.2 hands.
If any breeder of trotters in Australia was asked “Which two North American frozen semen stallions have had the biggest influence in our country?” Most certainly would answer Muscles Yankee and SJ’s Photo.
Any wonder why when these two outstanding trotters have sired horses of the calibre of Skyvalley, I Can Doosit, Lord Of The Gym, A Touch Of Flair, Zesta, Let me Thru, Calder Sensation, etc.
So Alabar is delighted to announce that frozen semen from the exciting, young trotter Federal Flex is now available in Australia.
Federal Flex, a foal of 2006, is a product of the champion sire Muscles Yankee and the SJ’s Photo mare Scully FBI 1:54 - $522,369.
His 9 starts in his debut season resulted in 5 wins and 3 placings including wins in the Valley Victory Final and the Champlain Stakes and a third place finish to muscle Hill in the Breeders Crown Final. These results earned him the title of Canadian 2yo Trotter of the Year.
He returned at three to win the Goodtimes Trot. In total his race record during the two seasons of 2008 and 2009 was 15 starts, 8 wins, 3 placings and prizemoney of $840,643.
- Canadian 2yo Trotter of his year.
- Winner of the Valley Victory Final, Champlain Stakes and third to Muscle Hill in the Breeders Crown at two.
- Winner of an elimination and Final of the Goodtimes Trot at three.
- By the legendary Muscles Yankee out of Scully FBI 1:54 - $522,369.
In the Southern Hemisphere Federal Flex's oldest progeny will be foals in 2011/12.
In the Northern Hemisphere Federal Flex's oldest progeny are foals in 2011.
As with a lot of Valley Victory line stallions, a lot of Muscles Yankee's best performers are out of Speedy Crown and Super Bowl line mares.
Horses such as Muscle Hill, Blur, Muscles Marinara and Tome Ridge are all bred on the Muscles Yankee / Super Bowl line cross. While Deweycheatumnhowe, Strong Yankee and Blue Mac Lad are bred on the Muscles Yankee / Speedy Crown line cross.
Thus mares by Super Bowl line stallions like
R Cs Deejay,
Continentalman,
Britewell,
CR Commando and
Malabar Maple appear good choices for Federal Flex.
While Speedy Crown line stallions include
Gee Whiz II,
Armbro Invasion,
Straphanger,
Pernod Eden,
Grant Our Wishes and
Classic Adam.
Sundon mares also look attractive for Federal Flex. Muscle Massive, the 2010 Hambletonian winner, is by Muscles Yankee out of a Pine Chip mare. Of course Pine Chip is by Arndon, the same sire of Sundon.
Of course the Group One downunder trotter Miami H is by Muscles Yankee out of a Sundon mare.
The Muscles Yankee /
Chiola Hanover cross has also been successful downunder with the likes of Skyvalley and Gluteus Maximus bred this way. Thus mares with Chiola Hanover could be suited to Federal Flex.
An interesting choice for Federal Flex would be
Pegasus Spur mares. Federal Flex is out of a SJ's Photo mare and thus a breeding to a Pegasus Spur mare would result in a 3 x 3 cross to SJ's Photo.
