What impressed us about Artesian? Well he was a tall athletic individual, clean gaited (raced without boots throughout his career) and was a seriously good 3yo in North America in 2003.

He also possesses a pedigree that is just right for the Southern Hemisphere – a grandson of the late and great Artsplace from a mare by Falcon Seelster, a stallion who is amazingly successful in this part of the world.

The double cross of the champion broodmare Breath O’ Spring  in his pedigree was also considered influential.

Artesian has made a great start to his career leaving 10 2yo winners including the dual Group winner David Hercules, as well as the Group placed trio Jorg Is Best, Bella Jam Jam and Salem.

Catalogue Style Pedigree

From his first crop to race Artesian has sired 20 winners and 18 different broodmare sire were represented.

Two of Artesian's winners were out of Abercrombie line mares including his best winner David Hercules, so that could be an early pointer for breeders.

The only two sires with more than one broodmare sire credit is Safely Kept and Whats Next. So of course if you have a mare by either of these two stallions, Artesian would be an option.

Artesian is an Artsplace line stallion with no No Nukes or Cam Fella blood therefore he is pedigree is wide open to breed mares by these sire lines to him.

Such No Nukes line stallions include Safely Kept, Village Jasper, Live Or Die, Caprock, Badlands Hanover, Ticket To Heaven, Barnett Hanover, Union Guy, Kinney Hanover, Northern Lights, Die Laughing, etc.

Cam Fella line stallions include Fake Left, Armbro Operative, Bettors Delight, Presidential Ball, Precious Bunny, Pacific Fella, Camtastic, Cameleon, Brioso Hanover, Exotic Earl, etc.

Artesian carries a double up of the influential mare Breath O’ Spring, thus any mare containing a dose or two of Breath O’ Spring should be considered for Artesian.

Coming from the Betty G family any mare by a stallion also from this family could be desirable. Such stallions include Island Fantasy, Tinted Cloud and Powerful Toy.
