Misiti (by Presidential Ball), the first foal out of former brilliant juvenile pacer Lap of Luxury, gave an impressive display at his debut, over 1780m at Northam last Saturday night.
Driven by his trainer Greg Schofield, Misiti started from the back line, dashed to the front after 450m and then set the pace before scoring from Alis Miss Bliss.
Injury forced the retirement of Lap of Luxury after she had had only 23 starts for nine wins, four placings and earnings of $61,245. Her wins included the Dainty’s Daughter Classic at Gloucester Park in April 2003.
Northern Lights mare Illumination, the dam of Lap of Luxury, was trained and driven by Darren Schofield when she won three races as a three-year-old and one as a four-year-old in the early 1990s.
